LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (KTHV) -- Khadijah Hughes, 17, and Latrice Love, 16, reflect on Michael Stanley Thursday. They called him "Mike Mike."
They can't believe Michael Stanley is dead.
Police say the teenager took 58-year-old Michael Sadler Sr.'s wallet at a gas station on Asher and fled on his bike. Instead of reporting the incident to authorities, officers say Sadler took matters into his own hands.
They say he ran Stanley over with his minivan, got out of his car and began hitting him. The teenager was taken to Children's Hospital where he later died. Police are charging Sadler with first degree murder.
Now, members of the Oak Forrest neighborhood are remembering their friend. Love says she will never forget the last time she saw him.
"I saw him this morning because my bus past by and he was going to the store on his bike."
Love says Stanley was always in a good mood. She says there are a few things she will miss most, "the way he walk, the way he talk and the way he acted."
