BALTIMORE (CNN) -- A Major League Baseball legend's mother is safe Wednesday after being abducted from her Maryland home Tuesday.

Authorities found Cal Ripken Junior's mother, Vi Ripken, unharmed around 6 a.m. this morning.

According to Aberdeen, Maryland, police, a man showed up at her home Tuesday morning with a gun, forced her into a vehicle, and drove off.

Multiple police departments investigated the kidnapping, after reports of a suspicious vehicle.

The FBI is helping local police with the investigation. Right now they have no motive.

Ripken, the former Baltimore Orioles shortstop, is in the Baseball Hall of Fame.

He's best known for breaking Lou Gehrig's record for playing in the most consecutive major league games.
