LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP) - Records show that an Arkansas man suspected of killing his parents and abducting his sister claimed to be mentally ill in 2007 before eventually pleading guilty to assaulting a family or household member.
Antonio Whitlow was arrested Saturday in Memphis, Tenn., hours after his parents were found slain in their home in Little Rock, about 135 miles away. Authorities say his 12-year-old sister was with him and seemed unharmed.
Records show that Whitlow pleaded not guilty by reason of mental disease or defect in 2007 to a charge of aggravated assault on a family or household member.
Whitlow was found fit to stand trial after a psychiatric evaluation and he changed his plea to guilty. He was sentenced to five years' probation. The term would have expired in October.
