UNDATED (CNN) -- The Hobbit stretches to three movies, and American Idol continues its new judge search.

Hobbit fans who can't get enough will get an extra helping. Director Peter Jackson announced he's adding a third movie to help tell the tale of Bilbo Baggins and the wizard Gandalf.

Jackson felt a third story would help tell more of the tale, not just from The Hobbit, but also from additional pages featured in the Lord of the Rings.

The first installment of the movie is due out in December 2013.

Twilight co-stars Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson aren't living together anymore. According to People.com, after word got out about her cheating with director Rupert Sanders, Pattinson kicked his girlfriend out of their multimillion dollar home.

Sources close to Stewart's former flame Pattinson say he is not going to get past Stewart cheating on him.

The pair could have an awkward on-camera reunion soon. Both are expected to present MTV's video awards on September 6.

And Toby Keith is the latest star to turn down American Idol. The country star says he can't commit to the 6-month gig because of his hectic schedule. The reality show is trying to replace rocker Steven Tyler, who will not be returning for a third season as judge.
