BENTONVILLE, Ark. (KFSM) - Police continue investigations in Bentonville, where they are searching for the killer of a 6-year-old girl.
The body of Jersey Bridgeman was found just blocks away from her home on southeast A Street Tuesday afternoon, just 30 minutes after she was reported missing. She was found in an abandoned home.
Fifty pieces of evidence were sent to the Arkansas State Crime Lab and the child's body was sent to the medical examiner's office.
KFSM reports that Jersey is the child of David Bridgeman and Jana Slinkard who are both in prison for chaining her to a dresser in their home. David is serving 18 years and Jana, the girl's stepmother, is serving 12 years.
Very little information has been released on the investigation, but Bentonville Police Chief John Simpson reassured parents living in the surrounding area that there was nothing in the investigation to suggest that any other child or family should be in any fear of any arising problems that might be related to this case.
