LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP) - Closing arguments are expected to get under way in the case of an ex-police officer who was charged in a sweeping drug and corruption investigation in east Arkansas.

Former Helena-West Helena Police Sgt. Marlene Kalb's trial is scheduled to resume on Thursday afternoon.

Kalb has maintained her innocence since she was indicted last year in an investigation called "Operation Delta Blues" that focused on corruption and drug trafficking in east Arkansas.

She pleaded not guilty to money laundering, extortion and drug-related charges.

Four other former law enforcement officers have pleaded guilty to various charges in the case.

Kalb's attorney, John Wesley Hall Jr., says Kalb testified Wednesday and denied the allegations.
