The presentation will take place on Tuesday, January 20, at 1:40 p.m. in Ida Waldran Auditorium on the UCA campus. It will be conducted by Larry James, chief of the UCA Police Department, and Ronnie Williams, UCA's vice president for student services, who are co-chairs of UCA's Emergency Notification Committee.

Interim UCA President Tom Courtway appointed the committee after two students were killed on Oct. 26, 2008 in a shooting outside a UCA dorm. The shots killed 19-year-olds Ryan Henderson of Little Rock and Chavares Block. One other person was wounded.  Four people face murder charges in the case.

The panel evaluated UCA's emergency notification system. The committee has met several times to investigate and discuss options, and it visited the headquarters of the Arkansas Department of Emergency Management to receive a demonstration of the state-procured emergency notification system.

The committee members include the UCA and Conway police chiefs, three students, two faculty members, two staff members and two UCA housing representatives.
