Suspect arrested for shooting at NLR gas station

NORTH LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (KTHV) - North Little Rock police have arrested a suspect for the shooting that happened at a Superstop gas station. Leland Bennett, 30, was arrested shortly after the incident and has been charged with first degree battery.

On Tuesday night, police responded to a shooting at the Superstop gas station at 1424 North Locust Street. When police arrived they found Deon Luckett, 28, shot in his neck near his car. Luckett was then transported to UAMS for medical treatment.

Luckett told officers that Bennett was attempting to buy weed from him before Bennett shot him. 

Witnesses at the scene told officers a white male had shot Luckett. Officers quickly set up a perimeter around the area to local and arrest Bennett. His bond has been set at $25,000.
