Suspect arrested in alleged attack on woman who caused power outage

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (KTHV) - One suspect has been arrested in connection to a woman causing a power outage after trying to escape a sexual assault.

Courvoisiea Allen, 22, has been arrested and charged with five different charges and is being held on a $500,000 bond. The charges that Allen has been alleged of include rape, criminal attempt to commit capital murder, and 1st degree terroristic threatening. All the charges are felonies.

In the early morning hours of October 4, the victim was getting a ride from Allen. He allegedly pointed a gun at her and demanded she perform oral sex on him or he would kill her.

That's when the woman fled the vehicle at a traffic light and ran towards a power station nearby. She climbed the barbed wire fence before climbing a tower. While on the tower she was shocked and thrown from the tower. The victim then ran to a nearby McDonald's and got help.

The shock the woman received ended up causing a power outage in west Little Rock. Around 8,000 customers were without power until about 9:30 a.m. that morning.

Allen has plead not guilty to all charges.
