Suspect killed in Little Rock officer-involved shooting

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (KTHV) – One man is dead after an officer-involved shooting in Little Rock.

Police first received calls to the area of East 8th and Sherman streets just before 1 a.m. about a disturbance that was later updated to a man with a gun.

When they arrived, two officers shot the man and he died at the scene.

The two officers have been placed on administrative leave, and their named will be released within 48 hours. The Little Rock Police Department is interviewing witnesses as part of the investigation.

Police say a weapon was recovered at the scene. No officers were injured.

According to LRPD Chief Kenton Buckner, more information will be released later on Tuesday.
