Suspect wanted after attacking 2 elderly women in Walmart parking lots

BLYTHEVILLE, Ark. (KTHV) – Police are searching for a man they say attacked two elderly women in two different Walmart parking lots within hours.

CBS affiliate WREG reports that the first incident happened on Saturday evening in Forrest City.

Police say that the victim was loading groceries into her car when a man armed with a butcher knife approached her and took her purse. He then got into a car and left the scene.

Fourteen hours later, a man matching the first suspect’s description attacked an 87-year-old woman in Blytheville. He knocked her to the ground, stole her purse then left the scene.

That victim was transported to the hospital for injuries to her hip.

Police are working with multiple jurisdictions to capture this man. They believe he has Texas tags.
