Teenager shot in officer involved shooting outside emergency shelter for juveniles

MARION, Ark. (KTHV) - A 16-year-old boy has been shot and critically wounded outside of an emergency shelter for juveniles in Marion.

According to Arkansas State Police, the shooting happened sometime before 7:08 p.m. after Marion police responded to the East Arkansas Youth Services. Moments after arriving the officers reported the teenager had been shot and wounded by police.

The Arkansas State Police is leading the investigation.

They will not be releasing more information on the shooting until Wednesday.
