LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (KTHV) -- For 41 years kids neglected, abandoned, or abused have been nurtured and restored at the Sheriff's Ranch outside Batesville.
There are dozens of life stories involving children who have had their lives changed.
Thursday night, at the Marriott Hotel in downtown Little Rock, the Ranch hosted their 22nd annual Children’s Awards banquet. It was emceed by former Governor Mike Beebe. Craig O’Neill did the auction, and the honoree was businessman Greg Hatcher.
But, the show stopping speech of the evening belonged to Ben, a 16-year-old rancher who told of how he had given up hope, only to have it restored by the Ranch. There wasn’t a dry eye in the house, even among all the lawmen who had come from all over the state.
The money raised through the live and silent auction was earmarked to go toward new beds for all 33 ranchers. It’s why giving to the ranch guarantees sweet dreams for everybody involved.
It’s still not too late to donate. Text the word “ranch” to 41444 and give whatever you can to this wonderful place that has changed so many lives.
