Thousands of Guns N' Roses fans pack War Memorial Stadium Saturday night

Guns N' Roses fans amped up for concert at War Memorial

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (KTHV) -- The Guns N' Roses concert drew a big crowd in Little Rock.

THV11 was at the stadium around 3 p.m. Saturday afternoon and talked with fans who were out at War Memorial tailgating since Saturday morning. THV11 spoke with fans of all different age groups and they said Saturday night’s event in Little Rock is one they have anticipated for a long time.

"We've got great people left and right here, tailgating in Little Rock is the best," said Ryan McIntosh.

The day Guns N’ Roses fans have waited for finally came. Dozens of people arrived hours early to prepare for a night with the legendary band.

"Pretty excited, I've been excited all day," said Ronnie Coosenberry.

"I'm glad they worked out their differences and got back together," said Tony Togni.

Not only were long time fans in attendance, but young ones were too.

"30 year anniversary that I bought this album," said one fan.

"Actually really excited this is my very first concert," said 12-year-old Aidan Gaylord.

For some, the love for the band runs in the family. By concert time, thousands of people lined the sidewalks to get in to War Memorial Stadium.

"This is a really big deal because now they can use it for something other than football games," said another fan.

Many fans were happy the band made a stop through town.

"We went and saw them in Dallas because we didn't think they would come to War Little Rock, but this is a dream come true for us," McIntosh said.

Fans were looking forward to hearing the classics such as Welcome to the Jungle, Paradise City, and Sweet Child of Mine, but mostly, hoped the concert went smoothly.

"I know they've never been here before and I hope we make them want to come back maybe someday," Coosenberry said.

We don't know how long they will play, but we do know there's an 11 p.m. curfew in Little Rock. We'll see if these bad boys of rock and roll follow the rules.
