Career expo for teachers this weekend

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (KTHV) -- If you're looking for a teaching job, the 2014 Educator Career Fair is this weekend.

Misty Harp with the Arkansas Department of Education shared details on "THV 11 This Morning".

Sponsored by the Arkansas Department of Education, this event provides valuable information and assistance to current teachers, teachers interested in returning to the classroom, and individuals interested in becoming an Arkansas teacher.

Attendees will learn about:

  • Adding areas to a current Arkansas teaching license
  • Renewing an expired Arkansas teaching license
  • Earning an advanced degree
  • Achieving National Board Certification
  • Applying for financial assistance through various programs
  • Existing Arkansas teacher vacancies and meet with various school district representatives
  • Obtaining an educator license through non-traditional routes

The event is Saturday April 5 from 9 a.m. to noon at the Metroplex/Team Summit Event Center at 10800 Colonel Glenn Road in Little Rock.
