Train collides with pickup truck, driver killed

WABBASEKA, Ark. (KTHV) - One person is dead after a Union Pacific train collided with a white pickup truck. Police say, 46-year-old Albert J. Gornatti, Jr. of Little Rock was killed during the accident.

No one on the train was injured nor was there any significant damage to the train itself. The collision happened at crossing on a county road in Wabbaseka which is southeast of Tucker. The crossing has a railroad sign and a stop sign.

At this time, it is unknown why the driver was hit. Union Pacific is investigating the scene. They review footage from the train's video camera and take statements from the crew.

The accident happened around 9 a.m. Thursday morning.
