Univ. of Arkansas trustees approve stadium expansion

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP) - The University of Arkansas System Board of Trustees has given final approval to a $160 million project to expand and upgrade the Razorbacks football stadium in Fayetteville.

The board voted 8-2 Thursday to issue $120 million in bonds to help fund the project with athletic department revenue to pay off the debt.

Trustees who voted no included David Pryor, a former Arkansas governor and US senator who questioned how the bond payments would be guaranteed.
