LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (KTHV) -- The Bankhead Drive Waffle House was robbed twice Sunday. Both robberies, which were merely 23 hours apart, resulted in the theft of the entire cash register.
The 24-hour restaurant, located by the Bill and Hillary National Airport, was first robbed at 2 a.m. Sunday. According to the police report, a masked suspect entered the restaurant with an assault rifle. After grabbing the register for the counter, the suspect fled the scene on foot.
Around 10 p.m that night, another suspect used a sliver handgun to assault a worker at the counter, knocking him to the ground. After the victim stood up, the suspect had taken the register and fleed on foot down 33rd Street.
Police could not take fingerprints in the second robbery because the scene was contaminated by workers and customers before the police arrived. However, police have useable security footage from both incidents.
