LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (KTHV) -- Another implosion of the Broadway Bridge happened Saturday morning around 8 a.m. as the rebuilding of the 93-year-old structure continues.
This particular implosion was actually set for Friday afternoon, but rain changed the state Highway Department's plans.
After Saturday's detonation and the fog lifted, you could see that one concrete arches was still mostly intact. Officials told THV11 on-site that crews would use a tool to bring the third arch down later Saturday.
The first controlled implosion happened Tuesday morning, but after the detonation, the arches remained intact. Later that day, and after officials used cables to pull the arches into the river, they finally collapsed as originally planned.
Saturday morning's implosion is set to be the final instance. Stay with THV11 and thv11.com for more.
