Weary weather watch for Arkansas Farmers

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (KTHV) - Not only does this start-stop spring season do a number on vacation plans, it makes it tough to be a farmer.

It's supposed to be planting time soon for many crops in Arkansas, but getting a gauge on when to plant when the weather won't cooperate is making things difficult.

Grower Joe Thrash has to be cautious as he plans when to put seed-to-soil.

"Those crops are kind of time sensitive on planting and if the cool weather continues and it rains twice a week we could not plant any corn and not plant any rice," said Thrash.
