LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (KTHV) – Weather can often be unpredictable and fast-moving. Being prepared is not only good, but it could also save your life.
THV11 is once again teaming up with Midland Weather Radio for our annual programming events, giving community members the chance to pick up radios at a discounted rate and even get them programmed. Beginning Friday, February 24, we'll be on-hand at a central Arkansas Kroger each Friday through the end of March.

Here are handy steps to program your weather radio form Midland.
You will need the following
- Midland All Hazards Weather Alert Radio
- 3 AA batteries
- A/C power adaptor
1.) Programing the time
Put your three AA batteries in the back of the weather radio.
Wait for the radio to turn on. When the time 12:00 a.m. appears, your radio is ready to program.
Push the menu key the word "TIME" will appear.
Push the select key and 12:00 a.m. will appear. The 12 will be flashing.
Change the hour by using the up arrow key or down arrow key on the radio.
The clock is a 12 hour clock so you must move the hour to PM or AM.
Continue to use arrow keys to reach the desired time. When you have reached the correct hour, use the right arrow key on the radio to move to the minute.
Repeat the process to get to the correct time. When you are at the correct time hit the select key. The word "TIME" will appear on the screen.
2.) Setting your location
In order for the radio to give alerts for your area, you need to select “Arkansas” in the location menu. You can choose to hear alerts from multiple Arkansas countries, all counties, or a single county. We recommend selecting the county that you live in.
Select "menu" to save.
3.) Setting the alert type
For the alert type menu item, we recommend voice, which is verbalize the weather warning. Press "menu" to save your preferences.
4.) Setting the channel
In order for your weather radio to work correctly you need both the right weather channel (also known as radio frequency) and the correct SAME code(s) programmed into your weather radio. This is true for any type of NOAA weather radio with SAME code capability.
