LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP) - The director of the Arkansas Scholarship Lottery said the owner of a Mega Millions ticket purchased in the state will collect the largest jackpot in the history of the state's lottery.
Lottery Director Bishop Woosley said Saturday the winning ticket was purchased Friday night in Stuttgart, Arkansas. Woosley said the ticket is worth $177 million and has a cash value of $105 million.
Woosley said the ticket is the first Mega Millions jackpot won in Arkansas and is the state's largest jackpot since the lottery began in September 2009. The state's previous record jackpot was a Powerball ticket purchased in January 2010 that was worth $25 million.
Woosley said the Mega Millions jackpot hasn't been claimed yet. He said the lottery's claims center is closed on weekends and reopens Monday.
