Yarnell's celebrates Ice Cream Day with free ice cream

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (KTHV) – How do you celebrate Ice Cream Day? With plenty of ice cream, of course! Nothing brings out the youthful spirit like the sweet treat, and Yarnell's served up a lot of it Sunday.

Set up at the River Market, Yarnell's helped celebrate the occasion with plenty of free cups of vanilla ice cream for everyone out enjoying the beautiful day.

"It's so wonderful to have the little ones come up because everyone loves ice cream. Everyone LOOOOVES free ice cream," exclaimed Scoop, Yarnell's mascot. "Just to get to see the smiles on the faces and the ice cream all over the faces. It's a wonderful, wonderful feeling."

Scoop had a few other fun facts about Ice Cream like the average American eats about 20 quarts of ice cream a year. Vanilla remains the most popular flavor, and chocolate is second, but cookies n' cream has passed strawberry for the third spot.
