THV11, Ark. Blood Institute hosting blood drive for Harvey relief

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (KTHV) -- Hurricane Harvey has devastated much of the Texas coast, displacing thousands of families.  Those families, our Texas neighbors, are in need of our help.

You can donate to the American Red Cross at thv11.com/texascares or by texting HARVEY to 90999 to make a $10 donation.

Additionally, THV11 is partnering with Arkansas Blood Institute (ABI) for a blood drive Tuesday, Sept. 5 from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. at  ABI's Little Rock location on 101 S. Shackleford.

Because of Hurricane Harvey, local blood centers in Houston and southeast Texas have had to stop collections and operations. Officials with ABI said they have already been asked to send blood and platelets to the region affected by Harvey and they are now asking that all eligible donors give to support this situation.

THV11 is partnering with ABI to ensure our local needs and neighboring states' needs are met. All donors will receive a "Hog Wild" t-shirt.

No appointments are needed. Simply walk in between the hours of 11 a.m. and 7 p.m. to give.
