Skull found in crab pot of Wash. coast

WESTPORT, WA (CNN) -- Authorities say a human skull was found in a crab pot off the coast of Washington state.

Grays Harbor County Sheriff's investigators are sending the skull to the FBI crime lab in Quantico, Virginia.

Authorities hope the lab will be able to collect DNA from the skull to help make an identity match.

According to sheriff's officials, a crabber found the skull in a crab pot about two-and-a-half miles off the coast.

The fisherman called the sheriff's office while out at sea, and a deputy met him at the Westport Docks to take the skull into evidence.
