AIR FORCE ONE (CBS) -- A sweet surprise and an extra "happy birthday" for a reporter covering the President's visits to Philadelphia and New York Wednesday.

Sunlen Miller of ABC News was assigned "pool duty" for the president's trip. That means she is the one who chronicles the president's activities for all 5 networks and reports back to them. The media uses pools because there often isn't room for every outlet to send their own reporter and of course, because its more economical.

Miller said she was humbled as the president surprised her with a cake to celebrate her 30th birthday as Air Force One winged its way back to Washington Wednesday evening.

Miller, writing for the pool, said the president "carried a chocolate cake with three candles to the press cabin for my 30th birthday. He led everyone in singing Happy Birthday. As I blew out my candles he told me to make a good wish and as I blew them out added, 'if you want to wish for jobs.' "

"Obama asked if this was my third birthday with him, I said 4 if you count the campaign trail.

Miller says, "He said that was a long time ago and sad, 'how come you look so much better than I do?' And then hugged me."

Then Miller asked the president if he had any comment about the budget and he said no. He left afterward.
