FRANKLIN COUNTY, IN (CNN) -- Indiana State Police hope autopsies scheduled for today will help them figure out what happened to five people found dead Sunday.
An ambulance took the bodies into Indianapolis Monday morning. They were found in two homes in Franklin County, about halfway between Indianapolis and Cincinnati.
Officers were called to the scene after someone reported a child roaming alone in the area. They spoke to the child and decided to search the homes.
Officers believe the victims were killed in a shooting. It's unclear if the shooter was among the dead.
