LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP) - An accused drug dealer in a massive federal investigation into drugs and police corruption in east Arkansas has pleaded guilty.
Demond McKinney pleaded guilty Tuesday to conspiracy to distribute controlled substances.
Prosecutors revealed they recorded several phone conversations as McKinney spoke to the two top figures in the alleged conspiracy. McKinney admitted he'd been involved in drug deals with Sedrick Price, one of the accused ringleaders.
Price is scheduled for sentencing Wednesday.
McKinney will be sentenced later and could get between five and 40 years in prison.
Five law enforcement officers were among 70 people indicted last fall in the investigation known as Operation Delta Blues.
