LONOKE, Ark. (KTHV) - A man is under arrest for allegedly threatening his family, then stabbing himself in the leg.

Just after midnight Friday morning, the Lonoke County Sheriff's Office got a call about a stab wound on Lingo Road in Lonoke.

When deputies responded, they found Joseph Clay Rhodes, 22, with a stab wound in his right leg. Rhodes told deputies that he was playing with the knife and accidentally stabbed himself.

Deputies later learned that Rhodes had gotten into a fight with his wife and his mother and he physically assaulted both of them. Deputies say that Rhodes also picked up his 6-month-old child by the neck and threw the child onto a couch.

Rhodes was taken to the hospital and his wound treated. Then he was taken to the Lonoke County Detention Facility.

Rhodes is charged with second degree domestic battery, first degree terroristic threatening, aggravated assault of a family member, endangering the welfare of a minor, first degree false imprisonment, third degree domestic battery, public intoxication, and interference with emergency communication. He is being held with no bond.

The mother, Kelley Palmer, 46, was arrested on outstanding warrants from the England Police Department.
