MOUNTAIN HOME, Ark. (AP) - The president of Arkansas Northeastern College has been named the new chancellor of Arkansas State University-Mountain Home.

System President Charles Welch announced Monday that Robin Myers will take over when current chancellor Ed Coulter steps down this summer.

Myers has served as president of Arkansas Northeastern College since 2005. Before that, he held several administrative positions at the Blytheville college.

Myers received bachelor's degrees in marketing and accounting from Arkansas State, a master's degree in operations management from the University of Arkansas and a doctorate degree in education from the University of Memphis.

Myers was one of nearly 70 candidates vying for the position. He officially takes over as chancellor on Aug. 1.
