LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (June 25, 2012) - Making a difference, one child at a time. That is the mission of Pediatrics Plus, a provider of services for over 500 children with special needs and developmental delays in central Arkansas.
Established in 2002, Pediatrics Plus continues to grow and change lives.
"We have four locations in Conway, Russellville, Little Rock and North Little Rock," says Amy Denton, owner of Pediatrics Plus. "We provide physical, occupational, speech therapy services for children birth to twenty-one on an outpatient basis. We also provide preschool services for children six weeks to six years old in our developmental preschool."
Janet Ragland's daughter Jenny has been receiving services with Pediatrics Plus for 5 years. Janet says the change in her child over the years has been nothing short of amazing.
"When she was born, we were told she would never walk, she would never talk and she'd be severely mentally disabled. And now she walks independently, she knows all her colors, shapes, numbers, letters. She said her first full sentence a couple of weeks ago."
Ragland says she is grateful to the therapists at Pediatrics Plus who go above and beyond for each client.
"They're your family at a certain point. We actually have a OT that comes once a week and sits down and has dinner with us to help us to learn how to feed Jenny and to help her with those things."
Pediatrics Plus is part of the Arkansas First Connections program, which provides early intervention services, in addition to their nonprofit program Community Connections that offers extra-curricular activities to children with special needs.
