Kimberly, WI (CBS/WFRV) -- The Kimberly-Little Chute Public Library director faced her fear in a tough challenge. It's something Beth Carpenter never dreamed she would do, hold an Egyptian fruit bat and hang it from her shirt.
The only reason she did it was because the library was able to raise $1,000. She says, "I'm grateful that donors came forward to do this for the library... we are using the money for the youth collection which is badly need... we are very busy in the summer and it's hard to keep books available for people because of that."
There were four bats there and kids were offered a chance to get their picture taken.
