LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (KTHV) Volunteers gathered in locations all across the state Saturday to collect signatures for the Arkansas Medical Marijuana Act.
Volunteers were at local businesses and in public places in more than 20 cities. Organizers with Arkansans for Compassionate Care expect to gather more than 5,000 signatures.
ACC is a coalition of physicians, patients, and allies who believe sick and dying patients should have access to medical marijuana with a doctor's recommendation. Spokespersons for the Medical Marijuana petition say they have until mid August to gather the thousands more signatures they need.
