SEARCY, Ark. (AP) - A woman charged with practicing nursing without a license has missed a court appearance and a judge has issued a warrant for her arrest.
Authorities cited 49-year-old Suzanne Johnson of Pleasant Plains with the misdemeanor last month after Searcy School District officials learned she didn't have a nursing license. She failed to show for a Thursday court appearance.
Johnson, also known as Suzanne Pitts, worked at Sidney Deener Elementary for five years, treating sick children. She was arrested July 10 and bonded out the same day.
A Searcy district judge doubled her bond to $1,000 and ordered her arrest.
The Daily Citizen reports (http://is.gd/oruoeM ) a school district attorney at the hearing said the district will do all it can to help with Johnson's prosecution.
