EL DORADO, Ark. (AP) - An oil refinery in El Dorado is to get a $6 million upgrade to enable the facility so it can increase gasoline and diesel production.
Brentwood, Tenn.-based Delek U.S. Holdings said Wednesday that adding access to a railroad line has already increased output from the refinery.
Arkansas Business reports (http://is.gd/2rJZ8A) that the upgrades will occur in two phases at $3 million apiece.
The first will enable the refinery to increase diesel production from 30,000 barrels per day to 34,000 barrels per day. That work should be complete by the end of the year. The second phase will replace equipment and boost gasoline production.
The rail line is delivering Canadian and mid-continent crude oil.
