FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. (AP) - The former principal at Farmington High School has pleaded not guilty to assault, battery and animal cruelty charges.
Christopher Webb entered the plea Monday in Washington County.
The 43-year-old Webb was arrested July 19 after he was found by police covered in blood, nude and choking a woman. A dead dog whose throat had been slashed was found in a bathtub.
Webb is also charged with endangering the welfare of a minor.
Fayetteville television station KHOG reports (http://is.gd/e9LRpR ) that Webb was treated at a mental health center before being transferred to the Washington County Jail on July 26.
Webb's trial date is set for Oct. 23.
