JACKSONPORT, Ark. (AP) - The body of 23-year-old Justin Calvillo has been recovered.
Jonesboro television station KAIT says that he was located about one mile downstream from where he went missing. He had been swimming with friends.
Calvillo was actually found on Friday in 18 feet of water. According to Jackson County Sheriff David Lucas, the strong current delayed recovery until Saturday morning. Finally, about 9 a.m., divers from Lawrence County and Pocahontas were able to get to him.
Witnesses reported that Calvillo started struggling after drifting away from some friends on Thursday evening. Shortly afterward, they say he went underwater.
