BRYANT Ark.; (KTHV)--A large fire burns down two buildings of the Family Life church in Bryant.  It happened around 9:30 Saturday night, but it didn't stop the pastor from continuing services on Sunday.  More than two dozen firefighters fought one of the biggest fires Bryant has seen in a while, and they didn't get the fire fully out until about three Sunday morning.

The fire burned the offices and youth building completely.  Despite the loss the pastor says he isn't discouraged.

 Pastor Perry Black isn't letting a large fire, stop them from worship. "Today is a day of new beginnings, old things have passed away and we are going to rise up out of the ashes and go forward for the Lord." Going forward; after a large fire took more than 12 thousand square feet of their youth building. "It's nothing to be depressed about, God's good, we are just going to build a new building for our young people and look forward to great things in the future and reaching out to saline county and central Arkansas."

Pastor Black says the fire completely destroyed that youth and administrative offices but look, just a few feet away the main church building with the sanctuary still stands strong. That sanctuary held hundreds Sunday morning, with rubble still piled in the parking lot. Between services, youth members like Justin Hollingshed came out to pray where their youth building used to stand. "I know that good things are going to come out of this, God has plans for us and I had comfort for the whole thing."

Firefighters also came out Sunday morning to investigate the cause. Many members believe a lightning strike could have started the blaze. "There was severe weather in the area last night and whenever there is severe weather in the area at the time of a fire lightening is always a consideration," says Chief Mike McFarland. No matter the cause, Pastor Black says there are already plans to re-build. "We'll keep going like nothing ever happened and this time next year we will have a ribbon cutting ceremony with the most awesome teen facility in central Arkansas."

Thankfully, the offices and youth buildings were empty last night, no one was injured. Black says the church built the center back in 1991.
