HOLLYWOOD, Calif. (CBS) -- Ellen DeGeneres was honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame late Tuesday morning.

The ceremony comes six days before the start of the 10th season of her nationally syndicated afternoon talk show, "The Ellen DeGeneres Show," which has received six Daytime Emmy Awards. The 54-year-old DeGeneres herself has won four Emmys.

DeGeneres also starred in the CBS comedy "The Ellen Show," which ran in the 2001-2002 season, hosted the Primetime Emmy Awards in 2001 and 2005, the Academy Awards in 2007 and was a judge on the Fox singing competition "American Idol" for the 2010 season.
