NORTH LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (KTHV) - Officials say they received a call around 7:00 p.m. about a water main break at the corner of 22nd and Main streets in North Little Rock.
We're told that it's a 90 degree bend, joined with a 12 inch cast iron pipe that was installed in 1948. Officials with Central Arkansas Water say these pipes are expected to last 100 years.
Officials say they'll now dig it up for repair which is expected to take four to six hours, but possibly longer. Currently, a no boil order is in place.
The area affected is as follows:
• On 22nd St., from Orange to Poplar
• On Main St., from 21st St. to 22nd St.
• On Magnolia, from 18th St. to 21st St.
This involves about 40-60 houses.
