LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (KTHV) - A wanted murder suspect is in custody.

Cameron Jamal Peterson turned himself in at First Division Circuit Court Tuesday night at 7:30 p.m. He is charged with first degree murder and first degree battery.

Police say Peterson shot at Desiree Rice and Billy McKinney as they sat on the front porch of a home on Geyer August 6. Rice later died from his injuries.

This shooting occurred while Peterson was out on bond on two attempted murder charges. He and another suspect Jeremy Ford allegedly fired at two police officers Sept. 2011 on Geyer Street with AK-47s. Police say 30 rounds of ammunition were fired at officers.
