Michigan fugitive Jonathan May arrested in Monticello

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (KTHV) - A Michigan murder suspect featured on the TV program "America's Most Wanted" was found and arrested in Arkansas.

Tuesday, an agent with the U.S. Marshal Service called Drew County Sheriff Mark Gober asking for help in the apprehension of Jonathan Jamel May, a fugitive suspected of two counts of first degree murder and three counts of attempted murder in Detroit, Michigan.

According to information received from the Detroit Police Department, May along with two other suspects shot and killed a disabled couple, seriously injured another person, and shot at two other people on February 10th, 2012. After the airing of America's Most Wanted on Saturday, information was obtained that May was living in Monticello.

At approximately 11 a.m., the Drew County Sheriff's Department, Monticello Police Department, and U.S. Marshals went to the home on Bailey Street where May was believed to be staying. Shortly afterwards May was apprehended without incident. May was transported to the Drew County Detention Facility where he was booked in on charges of two counts of first degree murder and three counts of attempted murder.

May is currently awaiting extradition.
