LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP) - Gov. Mike Beebe says Arkansas flags at the Capitol and other state-owned buildings will be flown at half-staff as a mark of respect for the people who died during the terrorist attacks on Sept. 11.

Beebe proclaimed that the state flags will be flown at half-staff at those buildings from sunrise to sunset on Tuesday - the 11th anniversary of the attacks.

The governor also encouraged Arkansans to participate in some sort of community service to honor the people who died as a result of the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks.

We have a photo gallery of photos of people in New York City honoring the 11th anniversary of the Sept. 11 attacks.

You can find out more about the anniversary of the September 11 terrorist attacks. There you can find pictures from that day, featured coverage, and hear the stories of people who were there that day and hear their experience and see the front pages of all of the newspapers across the country from September 11 and 12.
