NEW YORK CITY (CNN) -- Investigators say they've cracked open a major liquor smuggling ring happening out of JFK airport in New York City.
More than a dozen airport staff were arrested today during the bust.
Fifteen suspects, all Sky Chef food service workers, are alleged to have stolen $20 million worth of alcohol.
Officers also say three private security staff, in charge of monitoring access to the planes turned a blind eye to the crime, in exchange for some of the stolen liquor.
The staff were reportedly swiping an average of seven-and-a-half thousand mini bottles from American Airlines planes a day.
