MARION COUNTY, Ark. (KTHV) - A Yellville woman was arrested Thursday and is facing a theft of property felony charge.
According to deputies, the arrest of Sandy Evans, 45, stemmed from a complaint filed to the prosecutor about missing and/or misuse of funds from the Marion County Fair Board. Evans is the president of the board.
Deputies say that Evans wrote checks to herself from the fair board account in the amount of $1,175 and also purchased a phone for herself in the amount of $762.64.
We're told Evans posted bond, but is scheduled to make her first court appearance on Sept. 19. Investigation is ongoing.
