UNDATED (CNN) -- Olympic medalist Shaun White posted a public apology today (Tuesday) on his Facebook page after his arrest the night before.
He was arrested on charges of vandalism and public intoxication at a Nashville Hotel.
The professional snowboarder tried to flee the hotel in a cab and kicked a guest who tried to stop him, according to the Nashville Metro Police.
The guest didn't press charges, but police say White was arrested after refusing to sign a citation.
In his apology, White wrote quote "I was celebrating a happy occassion and got carried away"
A Davidson County sheriff's spokeswoman says White was released Monday evening.
