LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (KTHV) -- For more than 40 years the late Jim Elder did the play-by-play for Traveler Baseball. It was in his honor that the Jim Elder Good Sports Fund was created. Its big fund raiser every year is "Home Plate Heroes," where local artists take pieces of wood shaped like the home plate you'd find on a baseball diamond, and paint scenes, portraits, landscapes, cartoons, etc. etc. etc.

This year's auction features accomplished artists, rookie artists, students artists, and people you never thought of as artists. The collection is fun, stylish and above all colorful. The home plates are already available for bidding. A special, advance on line auction has begun and will continue through next week.
