Homeland Security threats hearing

UNDATED (GANNETT) -- Hearings will be held in Washington Wednesday to examine homeland threats and agency responses.

Those scheduled to appear are Secretary of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security Janet A. Napolitano, FBI Associate Deputy Director Kevin Perkins, National Counterterrorism Center Director with the Office of the Director of National Intelligence Matthew G. Olsen.

Top Homeland Security officials spoke to House committees about various programs last week. Also, they spoke about the security holes that were exposed in the Customs and Border Protection Agency by the Christmas Day bombing incident.

Committee Chairman Joe Lieberman (I-CT) and Ranking Member Susan Collins (R-ME) will lead the hearings.
