EL DORADO, Ark. (AP) - Federal prosecutors say a man has pleaded guilty to a batch of charges that allege he stole $540,000 from an El Dorado medical practice and other businesses.

U.S. District Judge Susan Hickey accepted guilty pleas to seven mail fraud charges Wednesday from 31-year-old Jason Christopher Knight of El Dorado.

Prosecutors say the embezzlement included Dr. Shailesh Vora's medical practice as well as hotels and motels owned by the doctor.

Between 2002 and 2009, Knight is accused writing 215 checks from a number of accounts without permission.

Each count carries a maximum sentence of 30 years in prison and up to a $1 million fine.

Sentencing will be set later.
