LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP) - An Arkansas probation and parole officer accused of collecting money from drug traffickers under her supervision has resigned.

Roxanne Davis submitted a resignation letter to her superiors on Wednesday, two days after federal prosecutors announced her arrest.

A court document filed this week accused the Wynne woman of accepting cash payments from a convicted murderer who had been paroled and a man who was on probation from two drug-trafficking convictions.

In return for the money, prosecutors say Davis didn't enforce their parole and probation conditions.

Prosecutors say Davis was intercepted talking to the parolee on a wiretap used in a corruption and drug trafficking investigation dubbed Operation Delta Blues.

Davis' attorney, Rob Francis, said his client intends to enter a not guilty plea, but he declined to comment any further.
